FURUNO DANMARK markets a wide range of electronic seacharts to ECDIS systems (wheelmarked) '-systems) and none-'wheelmarked products"* as aid to navigation.
There are several different chart formats and types. FURUNO DANMARK can assist you with information and guidance, if you are in doubt of which kind of electronic chart you need.
In general electronic charts are marketed as Raster charts, which are scanned papercharts, and Vector charts which are digitized charts. The difference is that digital charts are built up of several layers and can work together with chart system software which can add or exclude different information built up in each layer. This enables different special features e.g the system can generate an alarm when the vessel track passes an area with shallow waters.
FURUNO DANMARK is distributor of charts from C-Map (Jeppesen), UKHO and Navionics. Official ENC Charts are supplied via the hydrographic offices around the world and is the only type which is approved for ECDIS, if the systems are to releave papercharts (The vessel is sailing paperless).

C-MAP Vector charts can be utilized in most of FURUNO's systems. These types are scalable, but not typeapproved for ECDIS.
FURUNO's NavNet 3D systems utilize special 'MaxSea Time Zero' charts. MaxSea is a popular and very usefull and 'easy to operate' sea chart software, which can be supplied with MAP Media charts as well as the special "MaxSea Time Zero" maps.
