VHF Radio

VHF equipment for maritime use in the frequency area of 154-165 MHz. The range is 'line of sight'. This means that if the VHF antennas can 'see' each other over the curve of the earth a connection can be established. The maximal range is approx. 50 nautical miles under normal conditions.

The range can be expanded under 'superrefraction' which is typically under high pressure - it is not unusual to see ranges in up to hundreds of nautical miles.
