Car antenna

Designed by AeroAntenna Technologies, the new external, vehicle-mounted, active antenna enables IsatPhone 2 users to enjoy high quality, uninterrupted voice connectivity while on-the-move. Vehicular antennas provide ‘line-of-sight’ to a satellite while a user is travelling in a vehicle, enabling them maintain connectivity and continue using their satellite phone.

The new antenna kit will be particularly beneficial for organisations with teams travelling in remote locations, for whom staying in contact while on the move is essential to their work and their safety.

Twitter is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family and if you do not have a Twitter account, you may find this function useful when travelling, for example receiving travel alerts from the embassy of the country you are travelling to, weather alerts through keeping in touch with family and friends.

Subscriptions

As with the purchase of normal cell phones a airtime agreement is required. There are a number of opportunities and here are some of the most popular:

ChatCard: Prepaid telephone cards, can be compared with a standard prepaid mobile phone without a regular subscription. The card is being charged with a number of units you want for a fixed price.

Subscription: Ordinary telephone subscription with a fixed base price and possible also a number of free call minutes.

In case of longer subscriptions of, for example 3 or 12 months and you pay for the entire subscription, the free minutes can freely be moved from one month to another within the period. Rates and minutes depending on the type of subscription.
