A SART is a 'search and rescue locating device' designed to assist in survivor craft location during search and rescue operations
Key features
The SmartFind S5 AIS SART 'Search and Rescue Transmitter' is an alternative to a traditional Radar SART. Compact, easy to operate and deploy, the SmartFind S5 is packed inside a quick release carry off bag.
A major benefit of the AIS SART is that target survivor information becomes viewable using standard ship's AIS equipment. Both the range and course to locate the survivors will be clearly presented on the ships AIS user display.
SmartFind S5 transmits a series of updating structured alert messages including its geographic position and serialised identity number. Once activated the S5 AIS SART transmits emergency alerts for a minimum of 96 hours. An inbuilt high precision GPS provides exact position information to assist in quick recovery of survivors. Whether all mounted in the ships bridge or packed inside a survival craft the highly visible and buoyant carry case affords maximum protection.
The SmartFind S5 has per October 2012 achieved MED Wheel Mark certification.
